This scientific journal specializes in the study of Islamic legal thought or comparative general law which contains scientific works related to thought in the field of law, both general (positive) law and Islamic law. The existence of Al-Muqaronah is of course very important in exploring, enriching and developing legal thought and theory, both Islamic and Positive Law. In this way, Al-Muqaronah will make a positive contribution in enriching the treasures of thought in the field of law, both Islamic law and positive law. This journal seeks to present various results of the latest research, both conceptual-doctrinal and empirical, in the field. The editors of "Al-Muqaronah: Jurnal Perbandingan Madzhab" welcome contributions in the form of articles which will be published after going through the manuscript selection mechanism, double-blind peer-review, and editing process. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian hukum normatif dengan pendekatan konseptual dan filosofis. Data diperoleh melalui studi kepustakaan dengan menganalisis berbagai literatur, jurnal ilmiah, dokumen resmi negara, dan teori yang berkaitan dengan moderasi beragama serta Pancasila. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa moderasi beragama memiliki hubungan yang substantif dengan sila pertama Pancasila karena keduanya sama-sama menekankan keseimbangan antara nilai ketuhanan, kemanusiaan, dan penghormatan terhadap keberagaman. Moderasi beragama berfungsi sebagai instrumen ideologis dan sosial dalam menjaga integrasi nasional, memperkuat toleransi, serta mencegah berkembangnya radikalisme dan intoleransi berbasis agama. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa implementasi moderasi beragama masih menghadapi tantangan berupa politisasi agama, rendahnya literasi keagamaan, dan penyebaran ekstremisme melalui media digital. Freedom of religion and belief is a constitutional right and a human right guaranteed by the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia as well as various international legal instruments. However, in practice, various forms of intolerance, discrimination, rejection of places of worship, and religion-based violence that threaten the protection of these rights are still found. This study aims to analyze the role of religious moderation in strengthening the protection of freedom of religion and belief and to identify the challenges of its implementation in a multicultural society. The research method employed is normative legal research using legislative, conceptual, and human rights approaches. The findings indicate that religious moderation plays a strategic role in fostering tolerance, preventing extremism, and creating a harmonious and inclusive social life. Religious moderation must be strengthened through education, law enforcement, interfaith dialogue, and state policies oriented toward the protection of human rights.
